Teeth Whitening
Tooth Whitening is an easy solution for people who want to improve the color of their teeth with minimal procedures. Remove stains from coffee, smoking, or other common causes with a painless tooth whitening from Dr. Adam Langan. We offer several tooth whitening options, all of which will be more effective than any over-the-counter solution. The whitening agents we use typically lighten your teeth up to ten shades after a single office visit.
Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed every several years, and more often if you smoke, drink coffee, tea, or wine.
Tooth Whitening Process
This type of tooth whitening usually requires two visits. At the first appointment, impressions (molds) will be made of your teeth to fabricate custom, clear plastic, trays.
At your second appointment, you will try on the trays for proper fit, and adjustments will be made if necessary. The trays are worn with special whitening solutions either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a couple of weeks depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening. It is normal to experience tooth sensitivity during the time you are whitening your teeth, but it will subside shortly after you have stopped bleaching.
Reasons for teeth whitening:
Fluorosis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).
Normal wear of outer tooth layer.
Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
Yellow, brown stained teeth.

Composite Filling
A composite (tooth-colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling.
There are many types of filling materials available, each with its advantages and disadvantages. You and your dentist can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today. Because composite fillings are tooth-colored, they can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth, and are more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or the more visible areas of the teeth.
As with most dental restorations, composite fillings are not permanent and may someday have to be replaced. They are very durable and will last many years, giving you a long-lasting, beautiful smile.

What is the process?
Dental crowns and bridges are fabricated using our CAD/CAM milling machine by CEREC® to match the shape, color, and height of neighboring teeth out of premium porcelain. Dr. Langan prepares for dental crown placement by removing decayed or damaged tooth structure and rebuilding internal portions of the tooth with a special buildup material. To place dental bridges, Dr. Langan removes and prepares teeth that will support the bridge by removing a small amount of enamel, which allows the ends of the bridge to fit perfectly over these teeth. After a short time, your new final crown or bridge is created at our in-house lab, which is then placed by Dr. Langan for you to wear while our lab custom-makes your new dental crowns or bridge. Custom Bridges
Dental bridges are a tooth replacement option that fills gaps in the arch caused by missing teeth. Bridges are made as a series of two or more interconnected dental crowns. The ends of the bridge fit securely over adjacent teeth to the open space. Bridges not only restore proper function and esthetics to the smile – they also keep surrounding teeth in place from drifting into open areas left by the tooth loss.

Dr. Langan uses CEREC® porcelain crowns to repair decayed, damaged, misshapen, worn teeth, and teeth that required a root canal. Dental crowns, or “caps” are also used atop dental implants to replace the tooth portion. The materials used may be gold alloys, porcelain bonded to metal alloy, or all ceramic material made to match your natural tooth color. The choice of material depends on requirements for strength, wear, and/or esthetics.
